Cavernous is a house that breathes warmth and poise that serves as a constant reminder of it being a home. Sitting in one of the most luxurious an stern-faced Apartment buildings that dot the skyline of modern-day Kolkata, it dares to slow down the pace of time against the constant hustle and bustle of city life. The organic forms in the design are inspired from the caves, where our predecessors lived in for millions of years and associated the curvilinear forms with the safety of the caves. Hence when one enters a curvilinear space the subconscious immediately associates it with safety and allows one to be; further promoting deep sleep while putting the cerebral cortex to rest from its perpetual state of alertness that is part of our daily lives today.
